About the Fundraiser
The Need
Plasencia Math Science Magnet Center is an elementary school in the inter-city of Los Angeles. Parents send their children to Plasencia to learn and be exposed to Math and Science. Teachers incorporate field trips into their teaching because they enable students to experience the real world and promote academic knowledge, and give them exposure to various Math and Science pathways.
A field trip is a logical extension to everyday instruction because it uses the outdoors as a classroom whether it be a museum, a farm, or Science camp. The hurdle is providing the funds for a variety of field trips, which includes the high cost of transportation and admittance fees.
